Aldi Truganina

OVERVIEW

Aldi Truganina was built as part of the company’s ongoing plans to expand its Australian store network. The new store has made groceries more accessible to the Truganina community.

OBJECTIVE

Hart (formerly Correct Safety) was engaged to design an all-in-one system for safe access to roof-mounted equipment, complete with Aldi-specified cladding on a preinstalled steel screen structure. The project had a tight timeframe, and with the screen structure bordering fall edges, expertise in both design and installation were critical.

OUTCOME

Aldi-specified cladding was fixed to the existing steel screen structure. The screen borders fall edges, acting as a continuous physical barrier and providing the highest level of passive fall protection.  The remaining fall edge is protected by guardrails, another passive, no-interaction solution.

The entire safe access system includes:

  • A custom plant platform with access stairs and landing
  • Aldi-specified cladding to a preinstalled steel screen structure
  • A vertical cage ladder
  • Yellow fibre walkway
  • Fall arrest anchor points
