Cobram Village Shopping Centre – Coles Cobram

Cobram Village Shopping Centre is home to Coles, Liquor Land, Chemist Warehouse and a variety of specialty retailers. The opening of Coles at Cobram Village is a major milestone for the community as it’s the only Coles available within a 70km radius.
Hart (formerly Correct Safety) was engaged to design and construct a safe access system and multiple plant platforms with full-length slat screens.
The largest plant platform required higher wind loading than most due to the building’s increased roof pitch, the platform’s long side aligning with the slope, and a minimum clearance of 1 meter required beneath the structure. In addition, the screen was specified to extend from roof level to 2 meters above the platform height, meaning one end of the screen structure reached approximately 5 meters in height.
Safe, convenient access to the roof and between plant platforms was essential.
The primary platform and full-length slat screens were custom engineered to handle increased wind loading from the steep roof pitch, elevated platform height, and tall screens up to 5 m high.
A level walkway between the access door and primary plant platform gives maintenance personnel a convenient, flat path of travel across the roof.
