Dan Murphy’s Mernda

OVERVIEW

The Dan Murphy’s Mernda bottle shop was built to serve the growing Mernda community in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor.

OBJECTIVE

Every Dan Murphy’s store has a cool room within it — and the HVAC equipment that powers it sits on the store’s roof. Our role on this project was to design and deliver a roof mount plant platform to support that equipment, plus a HVAC screen to hide it and prevent falls. We also needed to provide safe access for the maintenance crews carrying out work on the platform and roof.

OUTCOME

Our roof mount plant platform is engineered to spread the load of the HVAC equipment across the roof. Around it, our slatted screen hides the equipment and prevents falls on two sides, with a parapet wall doing the same job on the remaining two. The complete system protects maintenance crews through careful integration of the following elements:

  • Hart roof mount plant platform
  • Hart slatted screen
  • Ladders for safe access between roof levels
  • Aluminium walkway for a safe, designated access route across the roof
  • Fall arrest anchor points
