Haighs Chocolates

OVERVIEW

Haigh’s Chocolates’ new development at Salisbury marks the largest infrastructure investment in the company’s history, signalling an exciting new chapter of expansion and growth for the iconic South Australian family-owned business. Featuring 9,000m² of state-of-the-art production facilities and 6,000m² dedicated to warehousing and online fulfilment, the project will double Haigh’s production capacity—enabling the business to meet growing demand and enter new markets.

OBJECTIVE

Hart was engaged to address a variety of safety and access challenges within the facility’s ceiling space and on the roof. The ceiling space was congested with services and ceiling suspension wires, creating potential trip hazards. In addition, safe and compliant access to roof-mounted plant and equipment was needed to support ongoing maintenance activities.

OUTCOME

Aluminium walkways and step bridges were installed within the ceiling space to provide defined access routes and reduce the risk of trips.

To provide safety and access on the roof, stairways, walkways, guardrails and plant platforms were installed. Louvre screens were installed on two sides of the plant platforms to hide HVAC equipment from pedestrian view.

Our user-friendly solution included:

  • 2 x Hart roof mounted plant platforms
  • 2 x Hart louvre screen systems
  • Hatch with guardrail kit
  • Custom stairway for access to plant room
  • In-ceiling aluminium walkway on battens
  • Step bridge over equipment in the ceiling
  • Stairs for access to plant platform
  • Yellow fibre walkway
  • Guardrail system
  • Static line system
  • A variety of rung and access ladders
  • Anchor points
