Lucky Bay Grain Terminal
Lucky Bay, SA
The building of the Lucky Bay Grain Terminal has been a big plus for farmers in the Lucky Bay region. The site has provided a much-needed alternate storage and export option for farmers, with the erection of 3 large silos with a total of 24,000 tonnes of storage capacity helping to solve grain import and export issues in the region.
The grain terminal at Lucky Bay facilitates the discharge of 1000 tonnes of grain per hour. As such, the silos must be well-maintained to ensure the facility runs smoothly. Hart (formerly Correct Safety) was engaged to provide a safe access system for the silos, including access to eave inspection hatches and roof vents.
Our safe access solution included custom walkways and guardrails around the perimeter of each silo.
The system is compliant with AS 1657:2018 and AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 standards. By providing the correct equipment for the project, Hart has ensured that facility maintenance staff are safe and protected while carrying out maintenance tasks.
