State Basketball Stadium

  • Project

    State Basketball Stadium

  • Location

    Wayville, SA

OVERVIEW

Construction of the State Basketball Centre in Wayville added four new courts to the existing Wayville Sports Centre, creating a seven-court facility that supports community and elite basketball across South Australia.

OBJECTIVE

To preserve the stadium’s appearance, most of the air conditioning units were slated for the rear of the building on Level 1. Unfortunately, space was tight, and the units were planned for installation along fall edges.

Hart was engaged to provide safe access to these units through multiple small plant platforms, each fitted with guardrails at exposed edges. A further (and much larger) plant platform was built to one side of the building on Level 1, with screening on three sides to conceal the equipment from public view.

OUTCOME

Our plant platforms and access solutions have provided a safe working environment for maintenance teams without compromising the building’s aesthetics.

The complete safe access solution included:

  • 5 x Hart roof-mounted plant platforms
  • Hart slatted screen
  • Guardrail system
  • Fibre walkway system
  • Angled cage ladder
  • Anchor points
